God is demonstrating His presence in powerful, unprecedented ways. Over the next two years, we anticipate 75 to 100 million nonbelievers across America will receive our Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. These numbers are based on tested and proven evangelistic strategies. For example, we plan to place a JESUS video in most homes in this country, and our friends in the DeMoss Foundation have launched a campaign called Power for Living. There are many other evangelistic efforts in place.

Most of the salvation decisions during these outreaches are being made privately, so we need a way to find and nurture these new believers. Mission America was created for this purpose, representing a partnership of almost 80 denominations and 250 parachurch groups. Steve Douglass and I have changed our daily format on WorldChangers Radio to promote the Mission America concept of Lighthouses.

In order to help these new believers, we in Mission America are trusting God to help us establish at least 5 million Lighthouses. Local churches will sponsor these Lighthouses. Ideally, each Lighthouse will be responsible for approximately 20 homes, and people will telephone and personally visit new believers in their homes.

It is important that these established Lighthouses be aggressively evangelistic, because we need to find the new believers, as well as those who want to receive Christ.

During my days of agnosticism, I wanted nothing to do with the church. I had never met a Christian whom I admired except my saintly mother, and because of personal experience, I was very reserved about church. Having started my business in Hollywood, I began to attend First Presbyterian and usually sat in the back row. I would leave before anyone made contact with me. Months later, as I listened and studied, I made my decision to receive Christ in the privacy of my home.

Gradually my skepticism of the church was removed. Now I try to identify with the millions of nonbelievers who have, for various reasons, been soured on the church and led to believe that America's No. 1 enemies are Christians. Won't you consider joining with us in this harvest to reach these people?

My brothers and sisters, we have been bought with a price: the blood of our holy Creator God of the universe. We are called by God to maintain our first love, to obey His command to love others, and to tell others how much He loves and cares for them. The God-man, Jesus of Nazareth, has commissioned us to help take His gospel to the ends of the Earth. Let us commit ourselves to help fulfill the Great Commission before the end of the year 2000.
