FLASHBACK
As we celebrate Campus Crusade for Christ's 50th Anniversary, we want to look back at a few photographs from the early days of the movement. And we'll invite a staff member who was there to tell us what memories these photos invoke.

Our Sunday-school teacher and mentor, Henrietta Mears, director of Christian education at Hollywood Presbyterian Church, used to tell us to find our place marked "X" in serving God. It was there that we would find the most joy. In the early days of the ministry on campus at UCLA, I wasn't sure where my X was. I enjoyed greeting students at our home and providing refreshments at our meetings, but I did not know the joy that Bill did in evangelism. However I was eager to be used by God, so I began stepping out in faith and meeting with women on campus. The first 50 women with whom I made appointments all received Christ! Clearly, God wanted me involved in campus evangelism. I have not seen those kinds of results since, but looking back, I know God was honoring my heart's desire to serve Him and be a partner to Bill. I remember the excitement of saying to Bill, "I now know what Dr. Mears meant when she said, ‘Find your place marked X.'"
